Kate Hudson: style diary for Jimmy Choo AW15

Whether playing everyone’s favourite fictional groupie, Penny Lane (Almost Famous), or losing guys in 10 days, 36 year-old Kate Hudson has brought laughter and a dose of Hollywood royalty to our living rooms. The daughter of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson now lends her Cali girl cool to Jimmy Choo’s Autumn Winter 2015 Collection.

The actress and mother of two boys is a great fit for the much coveted handmade shoes. Being flirty but not over-the-top, high-end but not out of reach, has helped Jimmy Choo reach cult status in less than 30 years.

Eternally youthful, Hudson has a penchant for the super girly, albeit preferring bohemian glamour for the red carpet. She says, “I think my favourite look was the pink velvet ballet heels with the big skirt we shot in the window. The whole look had a vintage Oscar de la Renta vibe to it; it was so ethereal and relaxed. Those shoes are beautiful and the colour of the shoes made the black dress feel so special.”

Hudson exudes a natural and laid back charm in the shoot and credits her svelte frame to cutting out sugar, “I would crave something sweet and it hit me how much sugar we really eat.”

Back to the shoes, she recalled her first pair of grown up heels in an exclusive interview for Jimmy Choo, “I must have been 12, and it was graduation. My mom didn’t let me wear heels back then, but I used to go in her closet and try hers on, of course. I wore a sundress that had a big skirt and it was white with little cherries on it. My mom bought me my first pair of high heels that day; they must have only been an inch or so. They were bright red and she gave them to me all wrapped up. I was so happy! So my first pair of heels were bright red pumps, which I couldn’t have been more excited about.”

All we want for Christmas are some new Jimmy Choos.
