Emira D’Spain is pure New York frequency: out late, overdressed, and exactly where she belongs. She’s made beauty feel like culture, not a tutorial, turning the GRWM into a tight little episode with punchlines, pacing, and polish. It’s the rare mix of real expertise and real personality, the kind that lets you learn something while feeling like you’re on FaceTime with your funniest friend, watching the night come together in real time.
Now she’s stepping from the feed into a wider frame with Next Gen NYC, where the stakes are higher and the edits are forever. What carries through is her signature: intention without stiffness, glam without distance, and a calm control over her own narrative. From chaotic Manhattan nights that end at 3 a.m. to a full-circle Victoria’s Secret moment that’s more warmth than intimidation, Emira isn’t chasing perfection. She’s building presence. In her world, confidence is the moodboard, and romance starts there.

Dimitri: If your life in NYC had a tagline, what would it be?
Emira D’Spain: Out late, overdressed, and exactly where I belong!
Dimitri: Your “Get Ready With Me” videos are basically mini episodes. What’s your secret sauce: timing, honesty, jokes, chaos, or the glam?
Emira D’Spain: It’s honestly all about the balance of expertise and personality. I want you to learn something, but I also want you to feel like you’re getting ready with a friend on Facetime! There’s humor, there’s glam, there’s a little chaos, but underneath it all, it’s intentional. Beauty should feel aspirational, but never unreachable.
Dimitri: What’s the craziest thing that’s happened mid-GRWM that you almost didn’t post, but posting it made it ten times better?
Emira D’Spain: There have been SO many moments where everything that could go wrong did, my outfit for the night arriving mid-video, plans falling apart, me running late (always) and I almost scrapped the footage. But I’ve learned that perfection is totally boring! The magic is letting people see the glam come together in real time, even when life is a little messy.
Dimitri: Give us a classic “NYC main character” moment you’ve had recently.
Emira D’Spain: Just the other night I stepped out, thinking I was just grabbing a quick dinner with one of my friends, and somehow it turned into one of those perfectly chaotic Manhattan evenings, multiple stops, great music, dancing, running into friends, and not getting home until 3am. Those are the moments where New York really feels like it belongs to you. The city is my playground!
Dimitri: You’re now part of Next Gen NYC. Is there something about reality TV that surprised you once you were actually part of it?
Emira D’Spain: Honestly, I was surprised by how revealing it is, not just for the audience, but for yourself. When the cameras are up, there’s nowhere to hide, so you either shrink or you become more of who you already are. It shines a light on everything both good and bad and I have learned that authenticity is what really translates.
Dimitri: What was your first “oh wow… this is really Bravo” moment on set, like the moment you realized the cameras were not playing?
Emira D’Spain: You realize very quickly that your words carry weight. There’s no editing your way out of a moment, so you learn to speak intentionally and stand firmly in what you say.
Dimitri: What’s the best part of being on a show with your real social world, and what’s the weirdest part?
Emira D’Spain: I think the best part is that the love is real. We’re genuinely friends, we spend so much time together with or without the cameras, and I believe audiences can feel that authenticity. At the end of the day, there’s so much love between all of us, and that raises the stakes in the best way. The most unexpected part, for me, has been learning that even when things get uncomfortable, you still have to show up… together. There’s no disappearing to cool off the way you might in real life. But honestly, that’s what makes it so compelling, it’s real relationships unfolding in real time.
Dimitri: You’ve got a beauty POV, but you’re also genuinely funny. Where did that humor come from, and when did you realize it belonged in your content?
Emira D’Spain: Beauty can be incredibly aspirational, but I never want it to feel intimidating! I think audiences are bored of the hyper curated, aesthetic beauty content…it’s too serious and lackluster! I’ve always believed there should be room for personality. Humor makes beauty feel more inviting, more relatable, and honestly more fun.
Making people smile and helping them feel beautiful are two of my favorite things on this earth, and that’s always been true to who I am. The moment I stopped separating those parts of myself for my content and instead just let them exist together, everything really clicked!

Dimitri: You started on the editorial side at Paper Magazine and you studied at NYU. Do you still have “editor” habit you can’t turn off even when you’re in front of the camera being photographed or filmed?
Emira D’Spain: I definitely think that part of me never fully turns off. I’ve been trained to think about language and how stories are shaped, so even now I tend to choose my words carefully. Before I say something, it’s like I can almost see the sentence forming in my mind. That mindset naturally carries into my content, too, I treat a lot of my beauty videos almost like mini editorial pieces. Each one is meant to stand on its own as something easily digestible, but also something you can walk away from having learned!
It probably makes me seem very intentional ~ and I am ~ but it really just comes from a deep respect for the power of words and storytelling! If anything, I’ve had to learn that it’s okay to let my guard down sometimes and simply be in the moment.
Dimitri: When you’re having a low-energy day, do you have a “reset” routine and how does it work?
Emira D’Spain: Oh I absolutely have low-energy days, and I’ve learned not to fight them! My reset is actually pretty simple, I turn off my phone, go for a long walk, take an extra-hot shower, and then curl up on the couch with my cat for a nap. There’s something about fully unplugging that allows me to recharge. When I wake up, I feel clear, grounded, and ready to conquer the world! We always underestimate how important rest is for growth and I think it’s just as important.
Dimitri: If you could plan your dream “Emira episode”, what happens in it.
Emira D’Spain: My dream ‘Emira episode’ definitely starts with glam, because everything important does, followed by a shoot or a major career moment I’ve worked really hard for. Then it’s celebrating over skinny margaritas with my closest friends somewhere downtown… a little dancing, a little mischief, and ending the night in something absolutely fabulous (probably overdressed) wondering how the evening turned into a story I’ll be telling for years.
To me, the perfect Emira episode is equal parts ambition and gratitude, building the life I’ve dreamed of while actually stopping to live in it.
Dimitri: You’ve had a full-circle moment with VS. What’s a behind-the-scenes detail from that world our readers would find surprising, something funny, or unexpected?
Emira D’Spain: I think what surprises people most is how warm and supportive the environment really is. There’s this assumption that a room full of beautiful women might feel intimidating, but it’s actually the opposite, everyone is cheering each other on. It’s glamorous, of course, but it’s also incredibly human. That balance is what makes it feel so special!
Dimitri: This cover explores romance as confidence. When did you first understand that confidence could be its own form of romance?
Emira D’Spain: I think I understood that when I truly started falling in love with myself, not just the woman I am becoming, but the woman I had been all along. There’s something incredibly romantic about honoring your own evolution and recognizing how far you’ve come.
When you meet yourself with that kind of appreciation, confidence stops being something you chase and becomes something you embody. And to me, there is nothing more romantic than fully stepping into your own love. Because when you love yourself so deeply, it makes other people want to fall in love with you even more!
Dimitri: Valentine’s Day often centers romantic love — but what does love look like when it starts with yourself?
Emira D’Spain: When love starts with yourself, it becomes less about seeking validation and more about recognition. It’s the way you honor your needs, protect your energy, and choose who and what you allow into your life.
For me, self-love looks like trusting who I am, celebrating how I’ve evolved, and no longer shrinking to fit spaces I’ve outgrown. From that place, love stops feeling like something you chase, and starts feeling like something you naturally attract.
When do you feel your most irresistible — and what does that version of you look like?
I actually feel most irresistible when everything is stripped back, fresh-faced, silk nightie, unwinding at the end of the night, completely at ease. There’s an intimacy to that version of me that feels far more powerful than any glam look.
Confidence, to me, is most compelling when it’s effortless.
Dimitri: What makes you feel instantly confident — is it the lingerie, the attitude, or the energy you walk in with?
Emira D’Spain: Honestly, it’s a combination of all three, but the energy always comes first. Confidence is something you walk in with long before you get dressed. That said, the right lingerie can completely shift how you carry yourself. There’s something powerful about wearing pieces that are both beautiful and intentional, it changes your posture, your presence, even the way you move.
That’s what I love about Victoria’s Secret! It’s never about dressing for anyone else, it’s about how the pieces make you feel. When you feel good in your skin, that confidence becomes undeniable.
Dimitri: When do you feel most powerful in your femininity?
Emira D’Spain: I feel most powerful in my femininity when it comes from a place of ownership, when I’m dressing for myself, moving with intention, and completely at home in my body. There’s something transformative about beautiful lingerie because it shifts not just how you look, but how you carry yourself.
To me, Victoria’s Secret embodies that idea, femininity that is confident, expressive, and entirely on your terms.
