007: Bollinger ‘Spectre’ Crystal

Bollinger Spectre Crystal Set open

To celebrate the release of the newest James Bond instalment, Spectre, the House of Bollinger—which has been allied with her Majesty’s famous secret agent since 1979—has created a limited edition crystal set to express the ultimate in refinement and excellence so intrinsic to 007.

Bollinger appeared for the very first time alongside James Bond in Ian Fleming’s 1956 novel Diamonds Are Forever.  Just like the Aston Martin, Her Majesty’s secret agent would only chose the most British of all champagnes. When in 1978 Albert R. “Cubby” Broccoli, one of the producers of the James Bond franchise met Christian Bizot, then President of Maison Bollinger, they forged a lasting friendship between the two families. This led to a gentlemanly partnership between the two legendary figures who share a number of core values such as excellence, elegance and character.

Ever since, Bollinger, the champagne with an inimitable, uncompromising style, has been 007’s champagne.

The handblown crystal sets were created by designer Eric Berthès at Saint-Louis Crystalworks, founded in Lorraine, France, in 1586. They are best paired with Bollinger R.D. 1988, a rare champagne which matures for a long time on its lees to lend an exceptional aromatic complexity and long finish. Drink to a beautiful partnership.

A collector’s object, the incredible Bolinger Spectre Crystal Set 007 wine cooler has only been produced in 307 numbered pieces.
