The October Edition: Josephine Skriver by Philip Gay

LOFFICIEL 008 OCTNow deep into a verdant spring, the October edition of L’Officiel celebrates beauty—beauty for beauty’s sake (rare pink diamonds, the purity of pearls) and that other kind of beauty… that which comes from a profound place of humanity.

Gracing the cover, Josephine Skriver, a young model on the rise, something of a patron saint for children born into families that don’t fit the ‘norm’. Speaking from personal experience, she brings a perspective that, hopefully, can open hearts and minds to one of the most pressing social concerns of our time: equality. Time, as they say, is a luxury and it is even more so when given a generous peppering of diamonds and gems. And so this issue features  a 16-page edit of the season’s finest watches—classic, pink gold, sports luxe and more.

With exquisite beauty on the agenda, Elizabeth Olsen talks siblings, cinema and style in an exclusive interview. The 26 year-old possesses striking looks and a refinement and maturity beyond her years.

Elsewhere, L’Officiel celebrates 50-years of Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld’s partnership looking back at the moments that defined it. Award-winning young indigenous artist Daniel Boyd, who presents an alternative take on Australia’s murky past, speaks to L’Officiel and from there it is off to Brazil to discover her luxurious secrets before taking to the horizon on board the Transiberian Railway.
