Love ‘Lockit’

Pinky Promise #MakeAPromise

Louis Vuitton turns over a new leaf in 2016, promising to help the world’s vulnerable children. #MAKEAPROMISE

Louis Vuitton and UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) have joined forces to assist the world’s most at-risk children, including those affected by conflict, diseases, natural disasters and other conditions that threaten their safety and security.

Throughout 2016 the specially designed silver ‘Lockit’ pendant and bracelet will be available at Louis Vuitton stores worldwide (and online), with $300 from each sale donated to UNICEF. Based on the unpickable tumbler locket created by Georges Vuitton in 1890 to protect the most prized belongings of his clients, the ‘Lockit’ is a symbol of protection.

“When children make a promise, they take it seriously,” says Michael Burke, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, referring to the pinky promise that binds many a childhood friendship.

The #MAKEAPROMISE digital campaign was launched on January 12th 2016 at the sixth biennial UNICEF BALL in Los Angeles where Louis Vuitton was the Presenting Sponsor. Part of LV’s promise is to also invite its clients to make donations directly to UNICEF, especially during emergencies.
