Chanel goes goth lite this autumn—shot in moody black and white, the campaign has models Lindsey Wixson and Anna Ewers sporting mohawks and rather incinerating stares. Lagerfeld has stepped a little left of the softly romantic looks that have underpinned the Chanel woman. Sharp, a little fierce and dark, the tailoring still retains romance, just in an edgier incarnation. Trousers are elegantly flared, coats either err on the side of steam punk or have a heavy drape, while a black ribbon-like skirt brings shadowy whimsy. Take a walk on the dark side.
